In 2023, CDEA conducted a mapping study on Artistic freedom in Tanzania. This study has assessed the status of Artistic Freedom in Tanzania in numerous areas such as the freedom to create without intimidation/ censorship, freedom of artists and artistic products, right to distribute and remuneration, freedom of association, protection of social and economic rights and rights to participate in a cultural life.
This report is a product of the study and tends to highlight the current status of artistic freedom in Tanzania and Policy recommendations.
