This Model AU Toolkit is an extensive guide to provide context and guidance for a Model African Union Simulation. It outlines a step-by-step process of successfully simulating the various organs of the AU.
The toolkit seeks to:
- Serve as a guide for groups of young people in different modes of organization – regions, countries, schools, diaspora, etc. – in the simulation of the African Union.
- Explain the nature of the African Union and its organs to enable instructors and simulators understand the nature of the AU and its organs and how they function.
- Facilitate Model AUs which realistically depict the functions and processes of the African Union.
- Standardize Model AU simulations around the world for a universally similar experience.
How to Use the Model AU Toolkit
This toolkit contains the following parts:

- Simulations: This part breaks down the various bodies of the AU which can be simulates, and how to simulate each one.
- Facilitator’s Guide: This is a handbook for facilitators guiding the simulation process. It highlights the profile and role of a facilitator and guides the facilitator through various simulations.
- Delegates’ Guide: This guide helps delegates understand their roles in a simulation and provides direction on how to carry out tasks within the process as representatives of Member States.
- Resource Pack: The resource pack contains soft copies of all the background documents and resources which provide context for any simulation.
Please refer to the attached resource pack for more detailed information.
