About This Event
This event serves as the official introduction of the Model Handbook on Inclusive Data Governance (herein Model Handbook). We aim to hold a deep analysis and engagement of the Model Handbook, stimulate multi-stakeholder dialogue, and encourage adoption and contextualization at national levels. The launch will take place physically as a high-level panel discussion, and will feature: the Presentation of the Model Handbook and showcase Why Inclusive Data Governance Matters - connecting to the handbook’s framing themes of accountability and transformation.

About 2025 DPAS2025 Data Protection Africa Summit
The protection and safeguarding of personal data is increasingly becoming a challenge in the 4th Industrial Revolution. Countries around the world are calling on data controllers, users and processors of personal data to be prudent in the management, storage and use of this data. More recently, Africa has also witnessed an increase in this drive, with countries and industries pushing for more efficient data protection and privacy regimes.
In continuing to advance the growth and development of data protection and privacy in Africa and as one of the largest gatherings on data protection and privacy in Africa, the 2025 Data Protection Africa Summit is being organized by the Africa Digital Rights Hub in collaboration with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana under the theme - "DEFINING AFRICA’S DIGITAL FUTURE: FROM CONSUMERISM TO PARTNERSHIP"
